22,000 units of Atracurium Besylate were delivered through UNOPS, an entity under the UN.

The health crisis slowed down the trade of medicines worldwide, generating shortages for the most demanded products in the treatment of patients, negatively impacting some countries. Faced with shortages of some products in Paraguay, North Life Pharma was awarded a contract to deliver 22,000 units of 10mg/ml Atracurium Besylate through the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) in Paraguay to a hospital in that country.

This product was delivered in June 2021 and was destined to the Regional Hospital of the Social Security Institute of Ciudad del Este. Atracurium Besylate is a product used during surgery, intensive care and other procedures, being a non-depolarizing neuromuscular blocker with immediate action, essential during the pandemic to intubate patients in intensive care units.

The procurement process was carried out by the UNOPS Paraguay Office, part of the United Nations (UN), with the aim of assisting the Government of Paraguay in the supply of medicines.

During this period, North Life Pharma has delivered several medicines to clients in Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru, Paraguay and British Guiana in Latin America.
